Just found this post in your archive, and it seems as current as ever. I think the market for reference books is shrinking (if I want a quick answer to a question, online is where it's at). But if I wanted to learn a new technology, I'd much rather read a book than a whole raft of websites. I'm still buying computer books.

I have annual subscriotion for almost all the IT magazines, Dr. dobb , Oracle, MSDN, PC Magazine and you will be surprised to know eWeek also (whose secret publishers are Microsoft).

I read the article at Dr dobbs, and thought they were pointing to the writing section of your blog, because i never saw this books section.

By the way i think their suggestion of "blog to book" would be a great idea, particularly for your collecton on writing books and proposal.

There are very few good books on this subject some of my favorites are

Hi Chris,
Personally even though I work on a computer all day and read numerous blogs, I still rather read tech books in good old paper. I like to make notes and highlight sections of the book, its also a good chance to get off the computer :)
